Wholesome

A film still from Wholesome shows two Black women standing in front of a deli counter. The woman on the left wears a fluffy pink hat, a gold chain necklace, and a white tank top. The woman on the right wears an oversized black-and-white beret and a black tank top. They both look forward in awe. Behind them, there’s four refrigerators displaying various types of beverages.

Two friends accidentally break into their favorite deli after they find it closed without notice. Feeling abandoned, bemused and bewildered, they attempt to recreate the home they once found in Wholesome. This thrilling journey follows them through trial, through error, through confusion and through clarity. They realize that life really can be wholesome, if you just zoom in tight enough.
