Muoz-Doic Mixtape

A film still from Muoz-Doic Mixtape shows a young Mien woman sitting on an orange stool in front of a blue backdrop. She is holding a black portable cassette player next to her ear and smiling. Next to her, there’s a wooden round table and another orange stool.

Muoz-Doic Mixtape (pronounced: moo-ah thoy) is an offering of intergenerational storytelling from the Iu Mien community of Portland, Oregon: a brief glimpse into the collective work of culture-keeping in the face of historical displacement. Dedicated to the loving memory of Cayle Tern (1977-2026), who showed us that collective power is built in the everyday.
