Black Zombie

!
A black-and-white film still from Black Zombie shows a young Black man holding a torch. He’s wearing a ripped, unbuttoned white shirt. He is standing slightly in front of a group of Black men and women, including a woman on the left in a dirty white shirt and a man on the right with no shirt who is also holding a torch. They all stare forward grimly, with tall stalks of grass behind them.

A journey through cinema and history reveals how zombies evolved from Haitian spiritual traditions into Hollywood horror, exploring their deeper cultural significance as powerful symbols of resilience.
