At the Stage When (Ci Shi Ci Ke)

A film still from At the Stage When shows a young Chinese woman in the distance walking her dog along a tree-lined paved path on an overcast day.

A young married couple in a Chinese megalopolis navigates the tricky waters of the traditional expectations that surface in their most intimate exchanges. At the Stage When explores the evolving roles, identities and avenues of self-actualization available to young adults today.
