Juanita Anderson
Director
Juanita Anderson is a producer, director, and field builder whose work in public and independent media spans five decades. She is currently the Bob Allison (Allesee) Endowed Chair in Media at Wayne State University. Born and raised in Detroit, she is a 2024 Kresge Artist Fellow who works to amplify the authentic voices, stories, and images of people and communities who are too often unseen or unacknowledged. A co-founder of Black Public Media, she served on the board of directors of ITVS from 1998-2005, and is currently a member of the boards of Working Films and American Documentary, Inc.
