Estelar works in a psychiatric hospital and has visions of the past. During a water crisis in the state, she welcomes Kalil, her younger brother, to live in her house. Estelar realizes that it takes courage to review her conservative positions to deal with differences and love.

Director

Brazilian film director, curator and visual artist born and residing in Favela da Maré (Rio de Janeiro). He is the artistic and executive director of TV Coragem (2020), programming several expanded cinema exhibitions and member of the art and film collective Anarca Filmes (2014). He directed and scripted Between the Colony and the Stars (2022), licensed to the television and streaming channel Canal Brasil, in addition to several other short films. He has been selected for the American Film Showcase (Los Angeles, 2023), Apichatpong Weerasethakul Creators Lab: Filmin in the Amazon (Peru, 2022) and for the Gotebörg Film Fund (Sweden, 2021), with screenings at the Arsenal Institute for Film and Video (Berlin, 2022) and at the International Film Festival Rotterdam (2019). In addition to these, his latest works were commissioned by the Museum of Art of Rio de Janeiro, Pivô Arte e Pesquisa, carried out with resources from the Federal Government of Brazil, Secretary of Culture of the State of Rio de Janeiro, Critical + Creative Social Justice Studies by University of British Columbia (Canada), Heinrich Boll Stiftung (Germany/Rio) and recognized by The Documentary Impact Producer Relief Fund of the Doc Society (London/New York). As Assistant Director, he has been working in the industry since 2017, acting as 1st, 2nd or 3rd in projects with Youtube, Maria Farinha Filmes BR, Canal Futura, Porta dos Fundos, in addition to feature films awarded in 2022 by the Locarno Festival, and by the Félix Prize – Rio de Janeiro Int’l Film Festival.
